Teresa Kirby Smith was born in Lima, Peru and spent her childhood in Latin America. After leaving university and photography schools, she has lived in San Francisco, Santa Fe, New York City and London. She currently resides in Bermuda.

Teresa works with various mediums, black and white film with a medium format camera, sometimes at night, as well as digital abstract color images. She experiments using hand-held optical devices to produce single exposure abstract images.

Her color abstracts are lush, layered and densely saturated. Recently, she has produced a series on Duratrans film to further enhance these vibrant colors and shapes.
